The 1.5km Three Points Bridge would link Chidley Point, Point Walter and Point Resolution. It would be 8m wide, have separated bike and pedestrian lanes and strong commuter and tourism benefits. It might help solve commuted and school drop-off traffic congestion through Claremont in particular and allow cyclists to ride along the river edge without loosing sight of the river or having to divert to busy Stirling Highway around Chrirst Church Grammar School and MLC in Claremont. Linking in with Perth’s riverside footpaths and cycleways, the bridge will help to create a 40-minute river view bike ride from Perth to Fremantle. The Bridge will have spectacular views from 20m above the river, and the central section will becomes a tree-top walk as it passes through the canopy of Point Walters’ existing mature trees, where users can exit and enjoy the leisure facilities.

The Bridge was originally discussed back in 2016, and suddenly this month it is getting a lot of media attention online with the release of the Perth and Peel @ 3.5 million framework. Apparently it is one of 8 new river crossing footbridges proposed along with Perths increased density. I can't find any direct references to it in the document myself. Who knows if it will ever get built, but it would be an amazing tourist attraction. It would highlight Perth's amazing active outdoor lifestyle, passing through one of the most beautiful overlooked vista's in Perth, and it would vastly improve connections to Fremantle and between the northern and south riverside suburbs.
