Passive Solar Design, Light Weight Timber Frame, Multi-Purpose, Multi-Use, Split-Use
The Eagle Bay Holiday Home takes its inspiration from its surrounding native bushland of spikey grass trees and charred black trunks. Angled to worship the winter sun, the steeped pitched tent-like pavilion attempts to mirror the natural slope of the ground below. The four bedroom pavilions appear to fan-out away from the living pavilion in order to heighten a sense of individuality, yet convey a sense of community and family through their repetition. These pay homage to the owner’s initial brief to use shipping containers and create something sculptural. The Living room roof form is pays respect to the traditional A-Frame holiday homes of the South West.
Client Testimonial:
"Our brief was a 4 bedroom holiday home for our extended family of 8 and their offspring, with areas of privacy, and an area of community. The design suits all combinations of visitors; our families with kids or our older friends. Everyone’s areas can be separated with concealed sliding doors or they can be opened to connect with the central communal living areas. The finish is perfect, and the spaces are extremely efficient. It is perfectly orientated so that sunlight falls exactly where and when we need it. The appearance of the house is a masterpiece in our view."
